This is how I imagine a contemporary Edgar Allen Poe would write a novel if he had access to Videotome, Kubrick's 2001, and Furaffinity. This is on the HOUDINI required reading list for 2026.

Legendary Deck Maestro, Eden Reese Potts, is on a tear this summer with a number of Decker hits. Klub Drakula may be their magnum opus. We've just received a transmission from the Chief Photobash Officer of the UK Ministry of TTRPGs. Laser Pistol is a poetic mixtape for a sweltering, oppressive summer. As the old saying goes: as the globe heats up, so does the art. Or something like that.

Not a game, but a tool. Extend Decker's dithered world into your reality. Graft jagged pixels onto your cat, your apartment's air conditioning unit, your 7am breakfast, or any other real-world depictions you deem fit. OXY does it again with another blitzkrieg hallucination choice-slap to the face. Immanent! Alchemical! The philosopher’s watersport. Fantastic and intense! OXY has a way of catalyzing the intense despair of a climactic emo moment and discarding all the rest.

Probably the most infernal of all the ‘authenticity’ tools available on itch! XEROX HELL is perfect for making even the most cheerful photo look like a dank local black metal poster stapled to a telephone poll on a rainy November evening. Definitely one to keep in your tickle trunk!

There’s Something Here by aewren

This Decker-thing had a really bizarre atmosphere and an even stranger mechanic. Drag-and-drop your way to a verbose ambient revelation. Creepy as hell and a really promising use of words as things. Look out for more of this ingenuity from aewren!

Statements in Five Parts – Dancing Around the Matter of Occult Videogames by midnightunderside

I love unclassifiable manifestoes and the invocation of strange rituals over and above media norms. This one was brilliantly 1) structured 2) insinuated. The odd-but-subtle bifurcated navigation mechanism really did it for me. May the ludoritual night be long and furtive!
