We head down south to the great state of Texas for this month's artist spotlight. Prepare to feast your ears on some of the most heartfelt, innovative cloud rap we've heard for quite some time.

Slug has rounded up five of her favorite Pink Boy tracks to introduce you to your new favorite cloud rapper.

Introducing Pink Boy

Pink Boy is an up-and-coming producer/rapper/musician straight out the 409. Since 2020, he's released 30 different projects on streaming platforms alone, many of which are complete albums and EPs. Even though he describes his music as, "made for headphones - not professional music," it sure doesn't sound that way. All of Pink Boy's releases are extremely solid, but his output from the last 2 years has shown a real maturity and skill level that outshines his older work. His most recent album The Throw Aways pt3 is a contender for one of Slug's favorite releases this year.

You never know what you're going to get when you press "PLAY" on a Pink Boy album. Most of his tracks run under 2 minutes, which is great for all you goldfish-brained Zoomers out there (myself included). Pink's beats vary widely in style, ranging from traditional post-Peep guitar-driven trap to more ethereal synth-laden tracks with oddball drum patterns. It's easy to tell that Pink Boy is no stranger to experimenting with new styles and production methods. Many of his tracks are minimal in their arrangement, which really allows Pink to show his lyrical chops. His writing style is often surreal and vague, leaving space for the mind to fill in the hazy, smoke-filled imagery. There's so much emotion and soul put into every single track.

This is the video that put me on to Pink Boy. Shoutout the YouTube recommendation algorithm. It's a definite banger, but the well goes so much deeper!

Spiral Child

From The Throw Aways pt3 released in April 2026.

If there's one thing we know about Pink, it's that he loves an Uzumaki reference. This one's in the title. The real question is: could you tell me that you proud of me with a smile on your face? This shit will have you cryin' in the club. I love that Lil Peep interpolation in the bridge, too.

MTV THE SHOW

This is the track that follows up Bubba on the double-single. It's just as good and so ridiculously infectious. MTV BETTER MAKE MY CELL BUZZ!

Pink Boy extra in his feels on this one. Some of his best production on this track. That woozy synth is an impeccable choice.

This song is proof that you don't need drums to make a song bang. This shit is so beautiful. Slug's favorite Pink track, hands down. Listen to this shit, cry to this shit, call your mom and tell her you love her, call your girl and tell her you love her.
