Seven years running, one anarchist space in Valparaíso is scrambling to make rent as the far right tightens its grip in Chile. Shem Shelley tipped us off, here's how to help keep the doors open.
For almost seven years, the Flora Anarchist Space has held down a spot in Valparaíso's historic port district — the same neighborhood where anarchist ideas first took root in Chile more than 130 years ago. It came out of the 2019 uprising, born from the need for a physical place where comrades could meet, organize, and conspire.
Since then Flora has run as an open, autonomous assembly for the neighborhood: public debates, book launches, anti-prison organizing, political street art workshops, free software trainings, political education, health workshops, and fundraisers for other struggles. All of it free, all of it open to whoever walks in.
Now they need help covering rent again. As they put it themselves: keeping the space open matters more than ever with the far right in power and working to dismantle organized resistance.

Solidarity to Flora, and to every space like it still standing. Thanks to Shem Shelley for the tip.
